LESSONS - Wayne offers private mandolin lessons in-person at his home in Orange County, NY. He also offers private online lessons via Skype. Beginner or advanced or anywhere in-between, Wayne truly loves helping fellow mandolin enthusiasts with their musical exploration of all that the mandolin has to offer.

 

BOOKS – Wayne is the author of “Mastering Mandolin”, the third book in the highly acclaimed Alfred Publishing educational series. He also co-authored “Twelve Tunes From Three Fellas”, contributing several of his original mandolin tunes to the compilation of original and unique tunes that comprise the book. A third book featuring the keyboard works of J.S. Bach, arranged for mandolin duet is currently in the works.

 

WORKSHOPS - As both a skilled educator and mandolin player, Wayne is highly sought-after for his workshops on the mandolin, music theory and improvisation. Wayne offers a wide variety of workshops that draw on his own musical education, comprehensive experience as a working musician and decades of teaching others to further their musical abilities. Wayne is able to convey even the most complex musical ideas to students of all ages and skill levels in a patient, entertaining way that always leaves workshop participants with newly discovered, practical musical knowledge and the inspiration to apply it.

 

COACHING - Wayne offers one-on-one coaching for both professional and amateur musicians, ensembles and groups of all styles and instrumentation who have an upcoming performance, audition or recording session that they are not willing to leave to chance. Coaching is always custom-tailored to the individual needs of the musician or group and always includes specific strategies, suggestions, instruction and support material for effectively dealing with the issues at hand.

  • Coping with performance anxiety prior to an audition, recital or other important performance,

  • Creating or cleaning up arrangements,

  • Working on groove,

  • Improving overall sound and dynamics within an ensemble

  • Guidance on how to thoroughly prepare before heading into the recording studio.
